A. VINYARD HAS BEEN APPOINTED TO THE BOARD OF ADVISORS OF INTELLECTUAL
PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT, INC. CORAL GABLES, FL, September 15, 1999 - Intellectual Property Development, Inc. (“IPD”)
today announced that George A. Vinyard has become an investor and been
appointed to the company’s Advisory Board.
Mr. Vinyard is currently Of Counsel with the Chicago law firm of
Sachnoff & Weaver, Ltd. His
practice is focused on counseling start-up, early stage and emerging
technology enterprises with respect to corporate finance and general
corporate and securities matters and on counseling companies of all sizes
with respect to strategic intellectual property issues. Mr.
Vinyard was Vice President, Intellectual Property and Associate General
Counsel of 3Com Corporation from June 1997 until March 1999. At 3Com, Mr.
Vinyard headed the legal practice group responsible for patents, trade
secrets, copyrights, trademarks, and intellectual property licensing and
litigation matters. Under his supervision, 3Com's patent program nearly
tripled, with over 325 U.S. patent applications filed in fiscal year 1998. Mr.
Vinyard served as General Counsel, Secretary and Vice President of U.S.
Robotics Corporation from 1994 until U.S. Robotics merged with 3Com
Corporation in June1997. As U.S. Robotics’ chief legal officer, he was
responsible for organizing and administering the company’s intellectual
property programs. He also
oversaw the legal work related to five acquisitions, including Megahertz
Corporation and Palm Computing, in addition to the 3Com/U.S. Robotics
combination and a number of technology alliances and licenses. “I
